Elba High School students participate in community events and programs as a way to give back to their community. An example of this came to light last week when several EHS welding students and their instructor, Bruce Sasser, installed BBQ grills at Summerlyn Park in Elba. The students not only installed the grills, but they constructed them as well – an attribute to the hands-on education students receive through the Elba welding program. Three grills were installed last week, and are available for use to those enjoying the new park, located by the Pea River in Elba. Here, the students are shown pouring concrete to set one of the new grills under watchful the guidance of Mr. Sasser (standing back). The students were: Bridge Harrison, Daniel Jimenez, B.J. Free and Angel Lopez.
